    CHINA BUYS MORE DANISH WIND

    Vestas China continues to add wind energy to Fujian Province; Fujian Energy Wind Power Company orders 24 V80 wind turbines from Vestas in China.

    "Vestas, the world leader in wind energy, received an order from Fujian Energy Wind Power Company for 24 wind turbines of the V80-2.0 MW turbine, totalling 48 MW.

    "Fujian Energy Wind Power Company is owned by Fujian Energy Group, which is one of the key players in the energy sector of Fujian province. This company has set ambitious goals for expanding wind farm projects in their portfolio and is set to play a pivotal role in Fujian’s renewable energy sector..."

    "The new [wind project] site is located near the coast in Putian County, Fujian Province, and the first delivery is scheduled to take place in the third quarter of 2010.

    "The contract includes towers, delivery, transportation, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution and a two-year service and maintenance agreement. This solution includes an extensive range of monitoring and control functions allowing the wind park to be controlled in the same way as a conventional power plant...[Fujian will] have full control of power production...[and] the operational status of each individual wind turbine..."

    "This order marks the third sales agreement with [Vestas and] Fujian Energy Wind Power Company...one of the important provinces for the wind industry in Southern China...

    "Vestas was the first wind turbine company to enter the Chinese market...in 1986...[and] has installed wind turbines in thirteen provinces in China...Vestas has its largest integrated manufacturing complex globally situated in Tianjin, its China headquarters in Beijing, a factory in Hohhot, a global procurement office in Shanghai, and is currently commissioning a new foundry in Xuzhou...By the end of 2009, Vestas had invested more than RMB 3.5 billion in China and [had] 3,000 employees..."
