April 17, 2007 (UPI)
WHO
Institute for the Analysis of Global Security’s Iraq Pipeline Watch Web site, Brookings Institution Iraq Index

WHAT
The violence in Iraq does not exclude the oil and gas business. A four truck convoy from the Bayji refinery was stopped. The (Iranian) drivers were shot dead. The trucks and contents were burned.
WHEN
The survey covers the period June 2003 through February 2007. The website is up to date and describes a February 27 attack.
WHERE
Throughout Iraq’s oil and gas industry.
WHY
Attacks on oil and gas workers, pipelines and facilities are frequent in Iraq. The Brookings survey counts 399. The flow of oil in the northern Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline has been stopped so many times it is no longer repaired. More recently, a southern pipeline in the Shia-controlled Rumailah field, Iraq’s largest, was blown up.

QUOTES
“Mohammad-Ali Hosseini, spokesman for Iran's foreign ministry, called the five drivers delivering fuel from Iran to Iraq ‘martyrs,’ the Tehran Times reports. Three were Sunni and two were Shiite, all ambushed Saturday and their bodies found Sunday.”
