    CALLING ALL ENERGIES

He makes a lot of sense. Some of those Texas oilmen do.

Hunt says all energy sources will be viable
Holli L. Estridge, July 12, 2007 (Dallas Business Journal)

    WHEN
    - National Petroleum Council study will be released July 19.
    - Global energy demand is not seen abating through 2030.

    WHERE
Hunt spoke at the Richardson Chamber of Commerce Signature Luncheon and discussed global energy demand.

    WHY
    - Hunt expressed faith in the market to respond to the levels of demand it is not now possible to meet but said it would take time. He described new technologies that will make it possible produce from previously marginal, noneconomic, nonrecoverable oil and gas reserves.
    - Hunt also talked about what makes a corporation like Hunt Oil successful and said the most important element is corporate culture.

    QUOTES
    - Hunt: "The results basically say forget the argument of coal versus natural gas or oil versus something else…We're going to need it all -- oil, gas, renewables…we will need all of the biofuels and windpower…It's going to require everything."
    - Hunt: "From a company point of view, there are five things that separate a good company from a truly excellent company… a strong and positive corporate culture, the ability to differentiate yourself, the ability to adapt to a changing environment, agility or how quickly you can change and willingness to take a contrarian position when it makes sense to do so.”
    - Hunt: "Five to seven years ago, I would have said the most important thing was the people in a company…If you get the right people, everything falls into place. But after the debacles of Enron and all the other things, I decided if you have the right corporate culture, you will attract the right people."
