Ghana to set up solar testing and training centers

The Ghana government is setting up 2 testing and training centers, preparing to implement its solar energy Master Plan.
Implementation of the projects is schedule for the 2007 to 2010 period.
Project announcement in Accra, Ghana’s capital.
The training/testing centers will be at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the Tamale Polytechnic.
Japanese funding and training
The government says the projects are expected to “substantially address” the country’s energy needs.

Adda: “In 2003, government came out with a Master Plan to promote the development of solar for off-grid rural electrification using renewable energy in the northern part of the country.”
