HE WANTS TO DUMP WHAT? WHERE?
This guy might save the world, who knows? But the approach is backwards. "Go ahead and burn whatever you want, we'll figure out a tech fix to undo all the harm," is what this approach says. Better to begin by curtailing the harm: Make electricity from renewable sources. Then let the ocean take care of itself.

WHAT
George appeared before the House committee to explain is plan to dump 80 tonsof iron particles in the Pacific Ocean to increase the ocean’s CO2 absorption capacity.

WHEN
George’s testimony was July 18.
WHERE
The appearance was reported in the Washington Post.
The particles will be dumped 350 miles west of the Galapagos Islands.
George’s company is based in Foster City, CA
WHY
The iron particles, a plankton nutrient, are expected to stimulate the growth of the phyloplankton that would then absorb the CO2.
Environmental groups oppose the plan, fearing unanticipated harmful side effects and the EPA has warned the plan may be subject to dumping regulations.
