If converting coal to gas for "carbon-capture" is "gasification," then this should be called "windification" -- the use of an abandoned coal mine to produce energy by a cheaper process, resulting in “the REAL clean coal.”
Pacific Power To Convert Coal Mine To Wind

WHAT
The Glenrock Wind Energy Project is planned by Pacific Power a former coal mine site.

WHEN
The coal mine had operated between approximately 1960 and 2000. If approved, the wind project will be constructed in 2007-2008 and begin powering up by October 2008.
WHERE
The Dave Johnston Coal Mine in central Wyoming, near Glenrock. Pacific Power is based in Portland, Ore.
WHY
Glenrock Wind Energy will be 66 turbines with a 99 megawatt capacity.
