WHAT
The holiday lights enhancing the glory of Paris, the City of Light, will this year be energy efficient LEDs, saving the city 70% on its electric bill.
WHEN
- The annual lighting of the trees was November 26.
- The less costly display will be up longer this year, through mid-January.

WHERE
The trees line the Champs-Elysee, Paris’ grand boulevard between the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde.
WHY
- 415 trees are decorated with 1 million bulbs in 30,000 long glass strips, creating the appearance of lights dripping from the branches.
- The new display is sponsored by GE and Gaz de France,
- 300,000 to 500,000 visitors walk the Champs-Elysees daily.
- Paradis was among the many celebrities and guests at the tree-lighting that traditionally kicks of Paris’ holiday season.
