The Cap&Trade Controversy

NewEnergyNews posts this video today NOT because it agrees with these attorneys but because they have a right to be heard and their employer, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is reportedly trying to block that.

Their arguments about the EU emissions trading program are incomplete. Their description of offsets fails to consider the steps that have been taken to rectify the problems. The plan they call for is admittedly superior to the proposed cap&trade system – but it is simply not politically within reach.

NewEnergyNews has seen much evidence that cap&trade has begun to reduce emissions and change practices in Europe (see CAP&TRADE – TOXIC OR TERRIFIC (2)?). And it is the only emissions-cutting strategy, imperfect though it is, that has any real U.S. political hope. From vegsister via YouTube
