Technip and Iberdrola team up for French offshore bid

"…French energy services firm Technip, which has recently developed the Vertiwind [floating, vertical axis] turbine, has teamed up with Spanish energy giant Iberdrola, to bid for up to 1.25GW of French offshore wind capacity [in five proposed projects]."

"Technip's European offshore wind headquarters and a centre of excellence are to be located in Aberdeen [Scotland]. It will work alongside Iberdrola's Global Offshore Division, established in Glasgow last year…Technip will act as construction and engineering partner in the consortium, which will be led by ScottishPower Renewables. Areva will supply turbines for the consortium…"
