BP and Sempra in $1bn wind expansion; BP Wind Energy and Sempra Energy have announced a $1 billion plan to build a pair of American wind farms totalling 560MW

"…[T]he 141MW Mehoopany wind farm in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania, and the 419 MW Flat Ridge 2 wind farm near Wichita, Kansas…will be the largest to date in their respective states and are fully contracted under long-term power purchase agreements.
"The two projects will use 1.6MW GE turbines and are expected to be online late this year, making them eligible for the lucrative federal production tax credit before its scheduled expiration at end of the year."
