Gleanings from the web and the world, condensed for convenience, illustrated for enlightenment, arranged for impact...

While the OFFICE of President remains in highest regard at NewEnergyNews, this administration's position on climate change makes it impossible to regard THIS president with respect. Below is the NewEnergyNews theme song until 2020.

    THE GLOBAL RISE OF MICROGRIDS

Remote Microgrids; Commodity Extraction, Physical Island, Village Electrification, and Remote Military Microgrids: Global Market Analysis and Forecasts

    3Q 2013 (Navigant Research)

“…Once renewable distributed energy generation (RDEG) is added to the mix [with off grid diesel power sources], these remote systems begin to look like the classic traditional microgrids that have been the focus of most government funding in the United States…The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that by 2020, developing countries will need to double their electrical power output. Demand for energy, especially electricity, is growing much more rapidly in these nascent economies than the rate of expansion of conventional electricity grids in the major industrialized world…[D]eveloping nations will represent 80% of total growth in energy production/consumption by the year 2035…Navigant Research forecasts that global remote microgrid revenue will grow from over $3 billion in 2013 to more than $8 billion in 2020 under a conservative scenario…” click here for more
