"…To better understand the PV industry situation, it is essential to examine long-term demand trends by both geographic market and customer segmentation…Europe took the leading position in terms of driving end market demand in 2004 to 2005…[leading] to supply increases…[and falling] PV component prices…[G]enerous incentive policies in Europe led to rapidly expanding demand…[Supply-side imbalances led] to antidumping and anti-subsidies investigations…[and] changing regulatory structures to lower the costs associated with legacy PV incentive policies…By the time these cases were resolved (or in the case of European investigations, announced but not yet implemented), end-market demand in Asia accounted for over 45% of annual demand, while European demand share had declined from approximately 80% in 2010 to less than 35% today…” click here for more
