HAWAII CAN BE 100% NEW ENERGY IN 2050
Blue Planet Foundation sees Hawaii energy 100% renewable by 2050

"The Honolulu-based renewable energy nonprofit Blue Planet Foundation says that, based on progress to date and the rapid advances in clean energy and energy storage technology, it supports legislation to mandate Hawaii receive 100 percent of its energy from renewable sources by 2050…The state’s current goal, established in 2009, requires that 40 percent of electricity sales come from renewable sources by 2030, along with 30 percent coming from efficiency measures, for a total of 70 percent…The governor has said that he hopes to set even higher standards, especially since the state is well on its way to reaching its original goals…[In addition to 100 percent by 2050, Blue Planet Foundation] is advocating for a program called community renewable energy in which would allow households to benefit from renewable energy installed on any roof, anywhere on the grid…” click here for more
