2014 A Record Year For Wind, Emerging Markets Driving Global Wind Energy Growth

Emerging markets in Africa and Latin America led a record year for the global wind industry. Over 50 GW were built, an 11% year-on-year growth, according to Global Wind Report Annual Market Update 2014 from the Global Wind Energy Council. It stressed the vital role of emerging countries in global wind. China led the world with 23 GW of new capacity, Brazil was 4th and became a top 10 market, African markets, and Chile, Canada, and Turkey had record years…Annual regional forecasts show Asia continuing to lead, with Europe and North America following.
