Record wind energy in a day for Brazil

“Wind energy production in Brazil hit a new high, breaking the sector’s record for daily generation…[with] 2,989.2MW, or] enough electricity for 13 million homes…According to Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy, the northeast region led the production with an output of 2,282MW followed by the southern region with 707.3MW…[M]ore than 1,500GWh of electricity was generated by wind turbines [in May], a 57% rise from April…In one year, production of wind power grew 179%, representing 3.5% of the nation’s energy mix…The government estimates that could rise to 11% in the next eight years.” click here for more
