While tens of designs and prototypes are being developed, and are at various distances to commercialisation, at least half-a-dozen commercial-scale plants are being built the world over…[including a 150 MW tidal energy plant [in Indonesia, a 298 MW tidal energy plant near Scotland, and the 320 MW Swansea Lagoon Tidal Power project in Wales. South Korea’s] 254 MW Sihwa Lake project has been in operation since 2011…[India has not yet considered the abundance along its 7,500-km coastline since some setbacks due to high costs but technologies for tapping wave, tidal, underwater current, and ocean thermal energies have] evolved…In January, India joined International Energy Agency – Ocean Energy Systems…[and] will partner in developing test protocols…” click here for more
