    Candy Co Mars Doubles Down On World Wind

    Mars calls on global leaders to take bold action on climate change, accelerates its own renewable energy efforts; Company announces plans for new wind farm in Mexico as business and government leaders convene at COP22--one year after the historic Paris Agreement

    “Mars, Incorporated is urging the business community and global leaders at COP22 to take bold action to implement the targets agreed last year in Paris for tackling climate change…[and announced] plans for a wind farm in Mexico—its third major wind energy commitment in as many years…Mars has an ambition to eliminate all fossil fuel use from its operations by 2040…[and] is urging business and global leaders to do the same by setting ambitious goals…In 2015, Mars opened [a 118-turbine wind farm in Texas that] generates the equivalent of 100% of the electricity needed to power the entirety of the Mars U.S. operations…In 2016, Mars [activated a] 20-turbine wind farm in Scotland that is providing electricity from renewable sources equal to what's required to power all of its U.K. operations…” click here for more
