Amazon wins patent for drones that can recharge your electric car on the move; Talk about thinking ahead

“…You’re in your electric car in the future, rushing from [one place to the next but you see the car’s power is low but you don’t have to pull over and wait for it to charge because you’re] from the future…You just contact Amazon, which then sends out a drone that lands on your car and starts charging it while you’re still barreling [along. As implausible as this scenario sounds with current technology, it’s] the subject of an actual patent that was recently granted to Amazon…[According to] patent number 9,778,653, after you call it in, the drone shows up at a specified rendezvous point and finds your car by identifying some kind of marker on top. It then lands and does its thing…It’s worth noting that even if the logistics were somehow realistic with current technology, you still wouldn’t get much out of a charge. The technology just isn’t there yet…But, even a boost of 10 extra miles might be helpful, particularly if you’ve been stuck in a traffic jam that’s been using your battery less efficiently than you might wish…” click here for more
