UK Building World’s Biggest Ocean Wind
The UK Will Soon Be Home to the World’s Largest Offshore Wind Farm

Construction has begun on what will be in 2020 the world’s biggest wind project, Danish developer Orsted’s 1.2 GW Hornsea Project One. It will eventually be capable of supplying clean energy to over 1.6 million homes. Construction is being done by two ships, one for turbine foundations and the other for the project’s 7 MW turbines. A recent Stanford University study showed a single giant wind farm built in the North Atlantic could capture enough energy to power the entire planet, though it would have challenges beyond the capabilities of today’s technology, like extreme mid-ocean weather. click here for more
