The challenge now: To make every day Earth Day.

While the OFFICE of President remains in highest regard at NewEnergyNews, the administration's position on the climate crisis makes it impossible to regard THIS president with respect. Therefore, until November 2020, the NewEnergyNews theme song:

    Global New Energy Mapped

Global Renewable Energy Sites Mapped for First Time

    May 5, 2020 (Technology Networks)

“…[New maps show the global locations of major renewable energy sites and] their potential environmental impact…It is the first ever global, open-access dataset of wind and solar power generating sites…The estimated share of renewable energy in global electricity generation was more than 26 per cent by the end of 2018 and solar panels and wind turbines are by far the biggest drivers of a rapid increase in renewables…

While bringing many environmental benefits, solar and wind energy can also have an adverse effect locally on ecology and wildlife…[This mapping shows helps assess the effects of] the footprint of renewable energy on vulnerable ecosystems…[Based on OpenStreetMap (OSM) and national datasets to estimate of power capacity and locations of the world’s] solar and wind energy sites…” click here for more
